The easiest way to go to Sajek Valley is to travel from Dhaka to Khagrachhari by bus and then take a Chander Gari or suitable local jeep to Sajek.

Sajek is in Rangamati District, but Khagrachhari is the practical road gateway for most tourists. The Khagrachhari–Sajek road is roughly 70 km and normally takes around 2–3 hours by hill vehicle, while the Dhaka–Khagrachhari bus journey generally takes several hours and varies with traffic. Current Chander Gari fares are time-sensitive; the Khagrachhari counter chart lists ৳8,000 for a same-day return and ৳9,300 for a one-night return, per vehicle. Always check current bus fares, road conditions, weather and official travel restrictions before leaving.

A vehicle being available doesn't mean the road is open. In July 2026, heavy rain closed Sajek (opens in a new tab) and tourists were evacuated, and in October it closed again for security reasons (opens in a new tab). Never try to bypass an official closure, and before paying a non-refundable amount, ask in writing if you can change the date.
